Our Main Boat What to Bring

Are you ready for the ultimate Fishing Ucluelet experience on the wild, west coast of Vancouver Island?

One of the world’s most abundant fishing grounds, for salmon and halibut, you won’t be just fishing, you’ll be catching your limit.

Ucluelet is a 2.5-hour drive from Nanaimo, or a 30-minute floatplane trip. Tours vary, depending on if you want a salmon fishing charter, halibut fishing charter, or tuna fishing charter. Or maybe a combo.

Full or Half Day Offshore Fishing Charter

From Ucluelet, cruise out onto the Pacific Ocean, with your expert guide, to the bait-rich feeding grounds of local and migratory fish.

Depending on what Ucluelet fishing charter you booked, you could be a few miles offshore reeling them in at Amphitrite Bank (South Bank, to the locals), or twenty miles offshore around La Perouse Bank (Big Bank).

This is big water. This is big fish.

Book one of our 4- or 8-hour Ucluelet fishing charters, and you’ll be in the feeding frenzy of massive populations of salmon and halibut. Although salmon and halibut fishing are the ultimate goal, you won’t be unhappy when you pull in a rock fish or ling cod. They’re mighty tasty.

Full Day Tuna Fishing Charter

Near the end of the summer fishing season, approximately from July through October, you can go hunting for tuna.

Tuna fishing is fun. They’re feisty. They’re hard hitting.

The cheap fishing charters won’t touch tuna fishing. But Maximum Coastal Adventures loves this high sea adventure. Our guides know that Albacore tuna follow the currents, and know how to track them.

This is a unique sport fishing charter that many people never consider. Enjoy a stimulating tussle with a tuna, and you’ll be creating a fish story to tell for generations.

Half Day Inshore Salmon Charter

So, you want to catch some fish. Our half-day ‘inshore’ fishing charters troll through the Broken Group Islands of Barclay Sound. The waters here are teeming with Sockeye (Red), Chinook (King), and Coho (Silver) salmon, just waiting to gnaw on your bait.

Although somewhat close to shore, you will still have an exhilarating fishing experience. Or should we say ‘catching’ experience.
